Gas prices in Burnaby have gone slightly up ahead of the New Year's long weekend.
The cheapest available in the city went up to $1.61 compared to $1.60 per litre last Friday, Dec. 22, according to GasBuddy.com.
That number, as of this publication, Dec. 29, can be found at the Super Save Gas along Kingsway (see full list below), and is one of the most affordable prices in Metro Vancouver.
Burnaby's average price for gas is now $1.64 per litre, hovering around the same plateau as last week.
The least expensive fuel in the region remains at $1.59 per litre, posted at the CO-OP along 104 Avenue in Surrey.
GasBuddy.com's latest report says only one gas station in all of B.C. is offering less than $1.40 per litre compared to five outlets last Friday.
This time, Williams Lake's Petro-Canada stop on Oliver Street holds the title with a price of $1.39 per litre
The closest cheapest gas station within driving distance of Burnaby is further east on Highway 1 this week — Bridal Falls Shell at $1.43 per litre.
