Here's where to find the cheapest gas in Burnaby

Burnaby's average price for fuel has dropped below $1.70 per litre despite a slight uptick in the least expensive available.

Burnaby motorists, on average, will be paying four cents less for gas today, Aug. 23.

The median number is $1.69 per litre at most outlets across the city, down from $1.73 posted last Friday, Aug, 16, according to GasBuddy.com's latest report.

The biggest drop in price was six cents at the Kingsway Chevron at $1.69 from $1.75 per litre (see list below).

Burnaby's cheapest available is $1.67 per litre, as of this publication, located at a pair of Super Save Gas stops on 6th Street and Kingsway.

While that's a two-cent increase from $1.65 per litre, it's a one-cent dip from $1.68 at the same stations.

It's also the third least expensive price for fuel in Metro Vancouver — four cents behind $1.63 per litre at the 64 Avenue Shell in Surrey.

Meanwhile, there's one outlet in B.C. that's selling fuel for less than $1.50 per litre — and it's within driving distance for local motorists.

The Petro-Canada in Mission along Lougheed Highway has posted a price of $1.49 per litre, located less than 60 km east of Burnaby north of the Fraser River.

Abbotsford is also host to four stations offering $1.53 per litre.
