Jeffrey Chiu is running for Burnaby city council with TEAM Burnaby:
Jeffrey Chiu has lived in Burnaby for more than 13 years.
Born in Hong Kong, Jeffrey graduated from UBC and has been a TV news reporter, radio news and public affairs commentator and program director for Asian programs in the Lower Mainland.
At present he is the managing broker of a real estate company in the Metrotown area. Jeffrey has a reputation for community service and is a founder of the Burnaby Chinese Community Association.
Jeffrey wants to promote jobs and business development in Burnaby. He was a TEAM candidate for Burnaby city council in 2005 and 2008.
"In Burnaby, I'd like to see a more transparent government. A city council that spends your hard earned money more prudently and avoids wasteful spending," he says. Jeffrey Chiu supports the provincial initiative to create a municipal auditor general and pledges that a TEAM Burnaby council would cooperate fully with a municipal auditor when asked to do so.
