1Get celebrating on Sunday, Aug. 28 for the Family Day Finale, as part of Summer Sundays at Civic Square, 1 to 4 p.m. at Civic Square in front of the Burnaby Public Library, main branch at McKay Street and Kingsborough Avenue. This event features a special free performance by Bobs & LoLo between 1 and 1: 50 p.m. Bring the fam-ily for this song and dance extravaganza.

2 Get paddling on Friday, Aug. 26 for the beaver wetland paddle, family program, running from 6 to 8 p.m. Explore Burnaby Lake Regional Park by canoe and see beaver lodges. Basic canoeing instructions and equipment provided. Preregister by calling 6044326359. This event is for ages six and older, $16 per

person. Meet at the Burnaby Lake Nature House on Piper Avenue, just off of Winston Street. For more info, go to www. metrovancouver.org.

3 Get armchair travelling on Friday, Aug. 26 with the 55+ Armchair Travellers, Hawaii video presentation from 9: 15 a.m. to noon at the Bonsor Recreation Complex at 6550 Bonsor Ave. Buffet breakfast included. $5 for members, $6 for guests.

4 Get shopping on Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Burnaby Village Farmers' Market at 6501 Deer Lake Ave. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Food, furniture, flowers, games table, newspaper reading area and kids' play area are all part of the festivities.

5 Get rooting for the Simon Fraser University Clan men's soccer team as they play an exhibition on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. at Fox Field against Capilano University.

The Clan will need the workout because their regular season begins on Sept. 1 at home against Vancouver Island University.

6 Get cheering for the Grandview Steelers as they play an exhibition game on Monday, Aug. 29 against the Abbotsford Pilots at 7 p.m. at the Burnaby Winter Club.

Cheer on the Steelers, whose alumni include hockey player Kyle Turris.
