The B.C. Liberal Party has finally announced a candidate for Burnaby-Lougheed, the riding held by longtime Liberal Harry Bloy.

Ken Kramer, a lawyer and founder of KMK Law Corporation, will run in the next provincial election in the east Burnaby riding.

"This government has a strong record of managing our province's economy, creating jobs and supporting families that I believe deserves the support of British Columbia voters," Kramer said in a press release.

Kramer has a disability and has been an advocate for people with disabilities, focusing on B.C.'s home care support system, according to a Liberal party press release. Kramer also chairs the Health Ministry's Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board and has contributed to many community initiatives in B.C.

"I am committed to ensuring that others have opportunities to flourish in this province, and I want to bring that type of effort and support to the job as an MLA," Kramer said. "Whether it is in my career, or as an advocate, I am passionate about supporting those in need."

Kramer was born and raised in Vancouver and attended SFU, where he studied business administration, and UBC, where he earned his law degree. Kramer will be officially nominated on April 14.
