The Lake City SkyTrain station is on a busy highway and in an industrial park.
The residential areas that feed the station with people are on one side of Lougheed Highway to the south and on the other side of the industrial park to the north.
Getting to this station isn’t always easy, which is why TransLink is spending $576,000 on upgrades for pedestrians, including people with mobility issues.
The upgrades include:
- Signalized crosswalk
- Urban trails
- New sidewalk
- Wheelchair ramps
- Curb extensions
- Bike and pedestrian push buttons
- Improved street lighting
- Associated crosswalk and geometric improvements to boost access to the station from the surrounding residential and industrial areas.
