Long Xue is running with Burnaby Parents' Voice as a school trustee:
Long Xue is raising three children in Burnaby, his chosen home of 11 years. He obtained his bachelor's degree in information technology in China. As a software developer he has to regularly refresh his knowledge, which keeps him learning. He is active in his faith community, where his rich leadership experience is called upon in budgeting, policy-making, data analysis, group training, planning events, coaching and teaching. Long has taken up skating since becoming a Canadian, and he enjoys daily walks after work with his one-year-old son and reading to his daughters.
As an immigrant to Canada, Long recognizes the importance of ESL teaching that includes grammar and phonics. He intends to re-establish the international baccalaureate program to Burnaby schools to give students the opportunity to achieve educational excellence.
