Non-profit groups in Burnaby that need a new home might want to apply to the city.

Council approved plans at the Aug. 29 council meeting to put out a request for proposals for community amenity space at 2085 Rosser Ave.

The space is about 6,000 square feet in a two-storey standalone building, with 13 parking spaces, according to a report from the city's director of planning and building, Basil Luksun.

The space could accommodate one or two nonprofits, with community programming or office space for the organizations.

City staff recommended that the request for proposals be launched in September, with a deadline in early October.
