It appears someone in Burnaby was spoiled on Valentine's Day this year by Lotto 6/49.
A ticket floating around the city is currently worth $50,000 from the nation-wide draw on Feb. 14, 2024, according to PlayNow.com.
The five-figure payday was one of the 20 guaranteed additional prizes — all worth the same amount.
The Burnaby ticket's number is:
- 15009614-05
It's not known where the ticket was purchased or if the prize has been claimed, as of this publication, March 9.
Three other guaranteed prize winners were from B.C., including two in Vancouver and one in Langley, nine out of Ontario, three in Québec and four from western Canada (Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba).
"All lottery prize winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on their ticket to come forward to claim their prize," the BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has previously stated.
"The specific retail location where the winning lottery ticket was purchased, and the lottery winners' name(s) will be announced after the winner has come forward to claim their prize."
Meanwhile, no one took home the $46-million Gold Ball or $5-million classic jackpots in that same Feb. 14 Lotto 6/49 draw.
$500K Lotto Max winners
The $50,000 Lotto 6/49 slip wasn't the only winning ticket bought in Burnaby recently.
Two players in the city became half-millionaires, earning $500,000 each from Lotto Max's Extra Prize draws from Feb. 16 and March 1.
The numbers were as follows:
- Feb. 16 = 7, 12, 79 and 86
- March 1 = 23, 47, 67 and 91
It's also not known if either prize money has been claimed.
