Burnaby RCMP officers are investigating a shooting at a local sports complex that sent one man to hospital.
Just before 5 p.m. today (Saturday), Burnaby police were called to the parking lot of the Scotia Barn (formally known as 8 Rinks) for a shooting.
When crews arrived, they found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was transported to hospital by paramedics.
The area has been cordoned off by police tape while investigators and gang crime unit officers document the scene. The rink sits next to a community centre and several youth sports fields.
Burnaby RCMP say the condition of the gunshot victim is not known as of 6:30 p.m.
People are urged to avoid this area.
