UPDATED:
Burnaby RCMP continues to investigate a shooting that occurred early this morning.
Burnaby RCMP says it received reports at 4:16 a.m. today (Thursday) of shots fired in the area of Keith Avenue and Ivy Street.
Responding officers found a 25-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The man was transported to hospital and is currently being treated for the injuries he sustained in the shooting.
B.C. EHS told the NOW in a previous statement that the man was in serious condition when he was transported to hospital.
The Burnaby RCMP’s serious crime unit is continuing the investigation, and says the initial investigation has found the incident is likely not a random shooting and may have been targeted.
Police are still in the evidence gathering stage of the investigation, and say there is no further information available at this time.

RCMP are on scene investigating a reported shooting in South Burnaby this morning.
Police have part of an industrial area taped off after one man was loaded into an ambulance.
B.C. EHS confirmed to the NOW that a 911 call came in at 4:17 a.m., and paramedics responded to a medical emergency at Greenall Avenue and Keith Street, south of Marine Drive, an area populated by several wholesale outlets.
Spokesperson Sarah Morris said one patient was transported to hospital in serious condition.
