Burnaby residents are set to mark National Day for Truth and Reconciliation this weekend.
The official holiday is Saturday, Sept. 30 and there are many ways to mark the occasion, including, once more, eating a specialty donut from Tim Hortons.
The Canadian restaurant chain is bringing back its Orange Sprinkle Donut as part of fundraising efforts for residential school survivors.
Set to be served at 18 locations across Burnaby tomorrow and Sunday, Oct. 1, all proceeds from these donuts will be earmarked for Indigenous organizations.

The baked good is a classic Tim Hortons vanilla dip donut topped with orange sprinkles.
"Their support has been instrumental in helping us provide crucial services to communities in need," said Angela White, Executive Director of the Indian Residential School Survivors Society.
"The goal of Tim Hortons third annual Orange Sprinkle Donut campaign is to help raise funds that directly support our partners and the development of crucial programming and educational opportunities in their communities," added Tims spokesperson Hope Bagozzi in a news release.
The Indian Residential School Survivors Society is one of the non-profits set to benefit from the nation-wide campaign, as well as the Orange Shirt Society.
The Williams Lake, B.C., organization is celebrating its 10th anniversary, which started the Orange Shirt Day initiative and has been recognized every year across Canada since then.
"It is an opportunity to create meaningful discussion about the effects of residential schools and the legacy they have left behind," Tim Hortons' website reads.
"A discussion all Canadians can tune into and create bridges with each other for reconciliation. A day for survivors to be reaffirmed that they matter, and so do those that have been affected. Every Child Matters, even if they are an adult, from now on."
Tim Hortons' Orange Sprinkle Donuts have collected more than $2.6 million for Indigenous groups since 2021.
