TransLink says the Expo Line is back to normal operations through Burnaby.
First responders attended to a medical emergency at around 10:20 a.m. today, April 17, halting the SkyTrain between Joyce–Collingwood and Edmonds stations for nearly five hours.
A bus bridge was implemented to transport commuters to and from the stations, including stops at Patterson, Metrotown and Royal Oak.
That has since ended, TransLink confirmed.
11:45 a.m.
A temporary bus bridge has been created for Burnaby commuters today, as first responders tend to a medical emergency on the SkyTrain.
TransLink says the Expo Line has been shut down between Joyce–Collingwood and Edmonds stations as of 10:20 a.m.
This includes no current service at Patterson, Metrotown and Royal Oak resulting from the incident.
Extra buses will hit the road for riders that need to get to any of the affected Burnaby stations, the regional transit authority explained in a statement.
"Extra staff, Transit Supervisors, Transit Security, and Transit Police are at affected stations. Millennium Line and Canada Line service is unaffected."
Those travelling east from Waterfront Station will get off at Joyce–Collingwood and board a bus to Edmonds, while trains from Production Way–University and King George stations will terminate at Edmonds.
