Is it fair to say that Burnaby loves its pizza?
Well, there's another option for "authentic" Italian pies — and then some —now open in the Brentwood neighbourhood.
Famoso Italian Pizzeria opened its new Burnaby location on Oct. 13 in the Solo District (4415 Skyline Dr.), and is dual-branding with Ricky's Café for more "delicious dining options" for local residents.
"With the addition of Famoso Pizzeria, we've got bigger and even more convenient dining options available to our patrons who are looking to enjoy a true Italian flavour," said Raymond Ho, spokesperson for FDF Brandz, which owns Ricky's.
"The stylish, casual pizzeria embodies the look of a neighbourhood pizzeria with a modern flair and is a perfect place for sharing with family and friends."
This is Famoso's third restaurant in the Metro Vancouver region, adding to its Vancouver Grandview area and Coquitlam Centre mall locations.
Since its inception in Edmonton in 2007, Famoso has served and delivered Neapolitan pizza with "premium ingredients," a news release stated.
The company uses imported Italian bell ovens to cook the pies, part of the "traditional culinary techniques" its staff instills when preparing the food.
Also included on its menu are home recipe pastas, Italian-style sandwiches, salads, desserts and craft beers on tap.
