A new noodle joint will be popping up in Burnaby.
Captain Thai Noddle House, located at 4685 Kingsway, will be having its soft opening this weekend, specializing in flavourful bowls similar to Thailand's bustling river markets.
The restaurant says each bowl is crafted with care including rich broths, tender noodles and traditional herbs and spices.
"Our boat noodles offer an authentic taste of Thailand, where the warmth of home-cooked flavours meets the adventurous spirit of Thai cuisine," a release reads from Captain Tai Noodle House about its launch.
"It’s a dish that’s enjoyed widely in Thailand yet only little-known in Vancouver, and we believe it will offer diners a special new way to experience Thai food."
Bowls include Signature Boat Noodle with Pork, Signature Boat Noodle with Beef and Signature Boat Noodle with Chicken.
The bowls include a deep brown colour broth with aromas of spices, offering a savoury sweetness with a lingering aftertaste.
Tom Yum Prawn Noodle Soup features lemongrass, galangal and time leaves, resulting in a rich flavour with a moderate level of spiciness.
Fish Ball Noodle in Light Broth features a clear and sweet broth with fish balls and white radish, offering a refreshing option for those who prefer milder tastes.
