Police seek video in North Burnaby shooting that sent man to hospital

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 4300 block of Kitchener Street just after 7:45 p.m. Tuesday and found a man with a gunshot wound.

There was a large police presence in the 4300 block of Kitchener Street in Burnaby Tuesday night.

Burnaby RCMP are investigating a shooting that sent one man to hospital Tuesday night.

Police were called to the area of Kitchener Street and Madison Avenue just after 7:45 p.m. for a report of a "possible shooting", according to a Burnaby RCMP news release.

"When police arrived, they located a man with a gunshot wound," the release said.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Members of Burnaby RCMP's gang enforcement team were on scene, but police have not confirmed the incident was gang related.

"While it is still early in the investigation, it appears this incident was targeted," Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in the release.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police.

Burnaby RCMP is also looking for any kind of video taken in the area surrounded by Carlton Avenue, William Street, Willingdon Avenue and Gravely Street, between 7 and 8 p.m. Tuesday.
