I want you to take a look at the photograph attached to this short item because there is a lot going on there.
It depicts Burnaby firefighters helping an 83-year-old man at Piper Spit at Burnaby Lake after he fell down and found himself unable to get up.
It also shows the type of PPE that Burnaby firefighters have to wear during the COVID-19 pandemic. Imagine having to do your job in that every day. Makes those folks whining about having to wear a mask for 10 minutes in a grocery store seem kind of silly.
I also feel for the senior who fell. All he was trying to do was get a little fresh air and exercise after being vaccinated. Many seniors have been trapped at home for a long, long time because COVID-19 is especially dangerous for older folks.
My thanks to Silvester Law for sending this photograph because it really does say a lot about kindness amid the pandemic.
