Vancouver’s iconic amusement park, Playland, reopens to the public Saturday, May 1.

Playland will have an enhanced list of safety precautions to ensure the health and safety of all visitors and staff. The park will be operating with significantly reduced capacities, physical distancing, enhanced cleaning procedures, and masks will be required on rides and in all queue lines.

Organizers also note that the BCCDC recommends that all children over the age of two wear a face covering or mask.

Guests are asked to book their ride passes in advance, to ensure their preferred dates are not sold out. Visitors are also asked not to travel outside of their local health authority in compliance with the public health orders.

Playland will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May. The schedule of operating dates and hours will expand to more days and nights, later this summer.

Rides include everything from kid-friendly favourites such as the Tea Cups and the Honeybee Express to thrilling rides like the Wooden Roller Coaster and The Beast.

Playland will also offer a limited number of food and beverage options such as mini donuts, Triple O’s, and candy floss. The park will use cashless procedures, so customers must bring tap enabled cards for purchase.

All guests visiting Playland will need to purchase their tickets in advance online. Capacities are limited.
