A new Singaporean restaurant is coming to Burnaby, and the menu already looks promising.
Singapore Hawker, a popular restaurant based in Coquitlam, is set to open a location in this city.
The restaurant, specializing in Singaporean/Malaysian cuisine, first opened its doors in 2019 in Coquitlam with a fast-food concept that honours hawker-style dining culture — essentially “community dining rooms” where people from diverse backgrounds gather, mingle and share the experience of breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The chefs have more than 25 years of experience cooking Singaporean/ Malaysian fare, and they are ready to bring diverse authentic flavours to Burnaby.
Embracing tradition and family values, the second outpost of the restaurant at 7150 Sperling Ave. in Burnaby (the former location of Deer Garden Restaurant) will open in April, according to the owners, and will be under the same management and structure.
That means favourites like boneless Hainanese chicken on rice, Singapore laksa, pineapple fried rice and Hong Kong cold milk tea will be available to devour.
