RCMP Musical Ride in Burnaby raises $10,000 for local charities

Last month’s RCMP Musical Ride performance at Swangard stadium did more than just entertain some 3,000 spectators.

The event raised some cash for local charities. Ticket sales brought in a total of $10,000, which will be split evenly between Cops for Cancer and KidSport, according to a city staff the report.

“Swangard Stadium provided Burnaby residents a tremendous venue to enjoy a unique, entertaining evening featuring the RCMP Musical Ride,” the report says.

The RCMP E Division Pipes and Drums band also played at the event, along with Stephen Saccia, who sang O Canada. Attendees were also greeted with public safety and crime prevention displays.
