If you've been secretly taking violin lessons for years, wondering when to showcase your hidden talent, your moment has now arrived.

If you've been secretly taking violin lessons for years, wondering when to showcase your hidden talent, your moment has now arrived.

The River Market at Westminster Quay is holding auditions for indoor musical performances this winter as part of the market's regular busker rotation.

Artists who love to draw a crowd are invited to sign up to audition Friday, Nov. 9 starting at 3 p.m.

Each performer will have up to five minutes to show their best work, and they must supply their own equipment, including instruments, music stand, microphones, amplifiers and stool.

Applications are available online and are due by 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5. Performers will be assigned a specific audition time by Nov. 7.

All musical styles and instruments are welcome, but the River Market is not accepting other types of street performers this year.

Those who make the cut will be paid an honorarium for their performances.

The auditions are open to the public, and everyone is invited to watch the event and cheer on their favourite acts.

The market's food hall currently hosts musical afternoons every Friday, and, with this new addition of regular buskers, will add more on weekends this winter.
