Your neighbourhood shopping mall is all set to become a concert hall this upcoming week — with complimentary live music performances awaiting shoppers.

From June 16 to 25, Metropolis at Metrotown will host Music Mania, a family-friendly celebration featuring a diverse musical lineup — including School of Rock Vancouver, Vancouver’s Oriental Philharmonic Choir, Clara the Sidewalk Cellist, Royce Rich and Anite Tse.

Rich, one of Canada’s up-and-coming classical music artists, will kick off the musical celebration on Friday, June 16 from noon to 1 p.m. The live performance will be held by Yogen Fruze on the ground level.

Rich is followed by Clara the Sidewalk Cellist, a musical chameleon who weaves together notes and words that connect listeners across the world.

School of Rock Vancouver, which trains numerous musicians every day, helping them master skills and unleash creativity, will be having four performances; Anita Tse and the Ukulele and Oriental Philharmonic Choir will perform once each.

The performances are scheduled for an hour each day for the week. For the full schedule, visit website.

Folks interested in a School of Rock monthly program can benefit from receiving a $25 gift card for Metrotown while supplies last.
