SOCIAL MEDIA IN BURNABY: Who didn't show up for class

When it comes to social media, a surprising number of Burnaby candidates have no individual presence at all.

When it comes to social media, a surprising number of Burnaby candidates have no individual presence at all.

To a large extent, many appear to be relying on the social media efforts of their parties/slates to take care of their social media - TEAM Burnaby, the Burnaby Citizens Association and the Burnaby Municipal Greens all have active presences on Facebook and Twitter.

(For an analysis of how the parties are doing with their social media efforts, see separate, related story.)

However, if you're a voter looking to contact a candidate directly on social media, you won't have a lot of luck with some names.

The following make the "Didn't Show Up For Class" list by having no obvious Twitter or Facebook presence. (Note that some may be on Facebook, but with profiles that aren't searchable or that don't make it immediately obvious who they are; a couple have Facebook pages set up but have done nothing with them, as of the writing of this.)
