The Don't Go Hungry Program got a nice boost to help feed hungry people in South Burnaby.
Omicron and the Kings Crossing Buy-Low Foods presented a cheque for $3,600 to the DGHP, which is a food bank operating out of Gordon Presbyterian Church in Burnaby (corner of Edmonds and Humphries Street).
Gordon Church is the Burnaby hub of the Don't go Hungry program originating from the New Westminster Don't Go Hungry Program spearheaded by Rev. Laurie McKay.
“We are very thankful for the food donations, cash donations and compassionate volunteers we have received to date,” said a news release. “Our hub site is supporting the same or greater number of mouths being fed as the three New Westminster hub sites combined. This is a real indication of the need in the South Burnaby area, so anyone interested in contributing their time, funds or food to this worthy project is appreciated.”
