The most and least expensive homes sold in Burnaby last year ranged from a $5.08-million detached home with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms to a $282,000 condo with potential for redevelopment.

More than 3,500 homes were sold in Burnaby last year, according to data from Zealty.ca.

Condo sales made up the bulk of that number, with 2,354 sales in 2024. A little more than 630 Burnaby detached homes sold, along with 516 townhomes.

Median home prices by month ranged from $791,000 at the lowest in November to $852,000 in December.

Most expensive single-family home

The most expensive single-family home sold in Burnaby in 2024 was in Capitol Hill at 5188 Harbour View Rd. The home sold for $5.08 million on Nov. 5 after 29 days on the market.

With six bedrooms and eight bathrooms as part of the 5,460-square-foot home on a 9,487-square-foot lot, the original asking price was $5.189 million.

The home, built in 2024, has views of the Burrard Inlet and downtown Vancouver, along with a suite with a private entrance and a garage with room for up to nine vehicles.

Least expensive single-family home

The least expensive detached home sold last year was “not livable,” according to the listing.

At 6060 Ninth Ave. in Big Bend, the property is a 14,800-square-foot lot with agricultural zoning.

The lot sold for $825,000, down from its original asking price of $899,000.

It sold June 7 after 17 days on the market.

Most expensive Burnaby townhome

A newly built 2,485-square-foot duplex townhome at 4066 Triumph St. in Burnaby North sold for $2.45 million last year, making it the most expensive townhouse sold in Burnaby in 2024.

The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home sold Oct. 8 after 14 days on the market, although it sold for below the original asking price of $2.49 million.

Least expensive Burnaby townhome

The cheapest townhome sold in Burnaby last year came in at $400,000 in Edmonds.

A two-bedroom, one-bathroom, 657-square-foot home at 6826 Balmoral St., the corner unit sold for its asking price Sept. 7 after four days on the market.

The home, built in 1954, came with in-suite laundry and open parking in the lane.

Most expensive Burnaby condo

The priciest Burnaby condo last year was sold in Brentwood for $3.2 million at 5401-4650 Brentwood Blvd.

The three-year-old, 1,795-square-foot penthouse, originally seeking $3.39 million, sold Feb. 14 after 41 days on the market.

The condo has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, views of the Burrard Inlet, Mount Baker and more; other features include a 24/7 concierge and 3,600-square-foot fitness centre.

Least expensive Burnaby condo

The cheapest condo sold in Burnaby in 2024 has redevelopment potential, according to the listing.

The home at 58-5922 Hastings St. sold for $282,000, below its $348,000 asking price, on July 2 after six days on the market. Built in 1965, the listing stated the property was to be sold in “as is” condition and visitors were asked to “wear masks/gloves” and “bring a flashlight.”
