Thousands turn out to advance voting in Burnaby: data

General election day is scheduled for Oct. 19.

Thousands of Burnaby residents have cast ballots during advance voting for the upcoming provincial election.

During the first four days of advance voting, thousands of Burnaby residents decided to cast their ballots early.

Elections BC says, province-wide, the first day of advance voting saw 171,381 total votes, which beat the previous record of 126,491 during the 2017 election. 

Burnaby's five ridings saw the following numbers (in alphabetical order by district): 

  • Burnaby Centre
    • Oct. 10 - 1,026
    • Oct. 11 - 1,277
    • Oct. 12 - 995
    • Oct. 13 - 972

  • Burnaby East
    • Oct. 10 - 1,483
    • Oct. 11 - 1,291
    • Oct. 12 - 1,287
    • Oct. 13 - 1,305

  • Burnaby-New Westminster
    • Oct. 10 - 1,710
    • Oct. 11 - 1,470

No advance voting took place on Monday, Oct. 14, due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
