We're continuing with our popular feature - our staff's Top 5 (Or More) Things To Do This Weekend. We've moved publication to our Friday editions.
For this week's feature, we have several charitable events and a book signing that may be of interest
1 Get supporting some Burnaby Cops for Cancer riders on Sunday, Aug. 21 at Metropolis at Metrotown. Three riders will be in their riding gear and pedalling stationary bikes in preparation for the Tour de Coast this September.
The riders will be there during mall hours, and people are encouraged to drop by and make a donation for this most worthy of causes.
2 Get listening to Frankie Bones in a free concert on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Westminster SDA Church at 7925 10th Ave., Burnaby, entrance on 11th Avenue off Sixth Street. Seating is limited and available on a firstcome, first-serve basis.
The concert features Bones, an 18-year-old gifted, award-winning piano and organ student of Carillon Music, Dr. Leonard Richter, professor of music at Walla Walla University in Washington and other musical performers.
A freewill offering will be taken, as the concert is a fundraiser for the College Worthy Student Fund.
Fund. 3 Get your book signed on Sunday, Aug. 21 at The Solitudes of Place book signing event at 1 p.m. at the Burnaby Art Gallery at 6344 Deer Lake Ave. with artist Ann Kipling and art gallery director Darrin Martens.
For more info, call 604-297-4422. Copies of the hardcover book will also be on sale.
4 Get dancing on Sunday, Aug. 21 for a free Latin dance extravaganza, running from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts at 6450 Deer Lake Ave.

The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. at Civic Square in front of the Bob Prittie library branch at the corner of McKay Street and Kingsborough Avenue.
