Burnaby's Sequel Naturals Ltd. is voluntarily recalling some of its Vega Sport brand protein bars because it did not declare milk on the label.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Sequel Naturals are warning people who are allergic to milk to not consume the recalled Vega Sport bars because the product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.
Sequel Naturals distributed the protein bar nationally and one allergic reaction has already been reported.
The recalled Vega Sport's 60-gram natural plant-based chocolate coconut protein bars have a Nov. 19 best before date (upc 8 38766 1080830 8).
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is monitoring the recall.
