(Video) Burnaby family homeless after explosions and fire gut house

More than 30 firefighters had to be called in.

Burnaby firefighters battled a blaze Saturday night that gutted an Edmonds house left a family homeless.

The fire was in the 7900 block of Edmonds Street near 6th Street at around 8 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find a working fire with flames showing at the rear of the two-storey home with multiple 911 reports of explosions.

A second alarm was called, bringing 10 fire trucks and about 30 firefighters to the scene.

The fire extended into the attic before firefighters were able to contain the blaze.

It took crews about an hour to bring the fire under control.
