Police are looking for witnesses and dashcam video of a chain-reaction crash in Burnaby that sent a pedestrian to hospital with serious injuries Tuesday.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Production Way at about 12:20 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian-involved collision, according to a Burnaby RCMP news release.
Police said two vehicles were involved in the initial collision.
One vehicle was travelling east on Lougheed when another traveling west began making a left turn onto Brighton Avenue, according to the release.
"One of these vehicles struck a pedestrian and ran into a commercial vehicle," stated the release. "A fourth vehicle was struck by one of the primary vehicles involved and sustained minor damage."
Two drivers were taken to hospital, one with broken bones and another for precautionary measures, according to police.
The pedestrian sustained "several serious injuries," police said.
Impairment is not believed to be a contributing factor.
Police are now looking for witnesses and dashcam video in the area of Lougheed Highway and Production Way between noon and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
"We have spoken to several witnesses, but we believe there may be more," Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in the release.
