Start your Sunday morning off with some inspiring music in a service that will include an accomplished, worldly children's choir this weekend.

The Coastal Sound Music Academy Children's Choir will perform at Cliff Avenue United Church Nov. 4 at the 10: 30 a.m. service, with accompanist Barry Yamanouchi.

The choir has toured the world and won honours at various festivals.

Everyone welcome, and admission is free.

Symphonic sounds

Classical music will also get a youthful infusion this weekend at the Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre, 6688 Southoaks Cres.

The Vancouver Youth Symphony Intermediate Orchestra is scheduled to perform this Sunday, Nov. 4, at 7: 30 p.m.

Musical selections will include Verdi's Nabucco Overture and the well-loved Haffner Symphony #35 by Mozart.

Members of the VYSO Intermediate Orchestra will also perform.

Admission is by donation.

Craft festival

Why wait till the malls are overcrowded?

Check out the Deer Lake Craft Festival this month for some unique Christmas gifts.

The festival will be hosted by the Burnaby Arts Council at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, 6540 Deer Lake Ave. from Nov. 8 to 11.

Hours are Thursday, noon to 6 p.m., Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Free admission and free parking.

Celebrate with the stars

Get ready to do the twist. In celebration of their 50th anniversary, the Knights of Columbus Council #5423 are hosting a gala extravaganza with four singers impersonating world-renowned entertainers Tom Jones, Dean Martin, Tina Turner and Elvis Presley.

While "Elvis" is a local performer, the rest of the group has performed with Legends In Concert at venues around North America, including Las Vegas and Atlanta City.

The gala will be held at Holy Cross Parish, 1450 Delta Ave. in Burnaby on Nov. 16, and the evening will also include a buffet dinner, live band and dancing.

Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner is at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8: 30 p.m.

Tickets are $50 per person, with eight per table.
