The Moscrop Panthers made it into the playoffs with a 50-14 win over Eric Hamber in Tier II varsity football last Friday.
Jesse Johnston completed 14 passes for 184 yards and five touchdowns on four separate receivers in the final game of the regular season for the two Western conference schools.
Moscrop finished league play with a record of two wins and three losses, fourth in the conference behind unbeaten Nanaimo and 4-1 Howe Sound.
Marcus Perrin caught seven passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns, while Mohammed Indakem also scored off a 33-yard reception.
Parm Bhullar and Bailey Watson both also caught short passes for TDs for the Panthers.
Overall, Moscrop rushed for 162 yards, which included a 42-yard scamper by Frank Hung for another Moscrop touchdown.
"The boys should be proud of themselves," said Moscrop head coach Craig Bymoen. "Now we go in to play a No. 1 seed in the first round. But the guys are not deterred by that fact. ... We are going to go in and try and be the upset special. ... The guys have developed a sense of confidence in the last two weeks. They feel they can compete with anybody."
Moscrop will head to Nanaimo on Friday for a first-round playoff clash with the unbeaten Western conference champs.
