Lyft on Monday announced a partnership with Valley Driving School to help drivers meet one of B.C.’s requirements for becoming a ride-hailing driver.
Ride-hailing drivers must obtain a Class 4 licence, which requires that drivers take two tests - a knowledge test and a road test.
“These tests can create a long, expensive and challenging process for drivers, which is why Lyft is hoping to help,” said a news release. “British Columbians may be surprised to learn that many questions on the Class 4 knowledge test are focused on driving commercial trucks and buses, so most regular drivers may not be ready to pass the test without some practice. The free education sessions will help drivers learn more about a day in the life of a Lyft driver, requirements for a Class 4 License and tips for how to prepare for the knowledge and road tests.”
The sessions will be offered twice a week at three locations in Vancouver, Surrey and Langley, starting Sep. 30. Spaces are limited and only available to existing Class 5 licence holders. Those interested can register at https://lft.to/class4.
