Dear Editor:
Bev Oda's resignation will cost us, the taxpayers, a lot more even if she had gotten away with us paying for the odd glass of juice or a limousine on stand-by. She used to get paid for work delivered. Her pension cheque arrives in the mail regardless.
Her caving-in and resignation and the following outrage about MPs' pensions comes right on the heels of news about modest contracts in the world of sports. One baseball player is now good for $275 million and another a measly $252 million. I had just caught my breath after finding out 80-plus of our native chiefs earn more than the prime minister.
But the nerve of Bev Oda! Pretending to be equal to baseball players and chiefs at the Savoy!
Those who wanted Bev Oda and the government to be embarrassed probably do not spend much time doing that. But do they honestly believe all Conservatives will now vote for Thomas Mulcair? They must. Why would they otherwise have carried on the way they did?
