The expansion of the Amazing Brentwood shopping mall is moving tooooo slowly.
That’s what I say every time I see something new added to the roster of food outlets coming to North Burnaby.
I wrote recently about Brentwood getting the all-day breakfast joint OEB – now I find out that Japadog is moving into Burnaby for the first time.
What’s Japadog? Well, glad you asked.
It’s a company that has both food trucks and brick-and-mortar outlets in Vancouver and other areas.
They mix the beauty of a hot dog and add ingredients like shredded radish, Kobe beef and cabbage, and then top them off with a variety of different sauces.
They are amazing.
More recently, Japadog added a breakfast dog menu.
There are six hot dogs on the new Japadog breakfast menu, including some basics like their Plain Beef Dog, Bacon Cheese Dog, Cheese Dog, and a Mashed Potatoes Dog (yep, a hot dog topped with an orb of mashed potatoes).
They’ve got two egg-centric dogs: A Scrambled Eggs Dog and the Eggs Dog (with a fried egg). You can get “Eggs Mashed” (egg and mashed potatoes in a jar which may remind some of L.A.’s Egg Slut), hash browns, croquettes, and a Crunchy French Toast with either Caramelized Apples or Strawberry Sauce.
So, yeah, this is pretty incredible food news. You should definitely be as pumped as I am.
I don’t know when Japadog is opening because the mall construction is still ongoing. Hopefully, it’s soon because I’m hungry.
