The deadline for feedback to the city's proposed amendments to Burnaby's animal control bylaw has come and gone, and from the numbers provided to me by the city clerk’s office, it is clear that the citizens of Burnaby do not support breed-specific legislation.
As of Friday September 27th, there were 13 letters in support of Burnaby's current breed-specific bylaws and 95 letters opposed. It is time the City of Burnaby did the right thing and remove breed-specific bylaws or face the consequences next election (fall 2014).
