Dear Editor:
At the risk of being repetitive in my concerns about cleanliness at Burnaby Hospital, there surely must be a system to assess the cleaning in the building.
Will the sudden short burst of cleaning be continued or renewed? Have steps been taken to avoid returning to a time of peril?
I am not only not reassured, but my level of concern is elevated both by the failing score of 83 per cent achieved on a recent inspection and the passing score of 86 per cent achieved on repeated inspection. Apparently 85 per cent is the cut-off standard.
For the people of Burnaby's confidence in their hospital's infection-free status, more must be done.
Where are our MLAs in this crisis? Not in Burnaby Hospital, I'm thinking!
Mark Proctor, Burnaby
