Dear Editor:
Gordon Campbell was premier of British Columbia for nearly 10 years, and during that period he won three elections and instituted policies that resulted in rapid economic growth and a return to prosperity.
He was a decisive and effective leader and deserves to receive the Order of British Columbia in recognition of his many contributions to the province.
I am very disappointed that some of his NDP opponents have criticized his appointment.
In my opinion this reflects badly on them. You don't have to like or support a person to recognize the value of his contributions.
