Re: Burnaby Costco not transparent on ‘hidden markup fees with delivery service, says shopper, NOW News
I noticed your article. Thanks for writing it.
I noticed that InstaCart is operating under the costco.ca banner, both with respect to the logos on the page and the URL. It is reasonable to expect I'd pay what I pay in the warehouse.
I do not recall ever seeing any mention whatsoever anywhere that prices were marked up, until today when I used it.
That's deceptive in itself.

I also noticed that today, they do have a mention (about markup prices), but no indication of by how much. I ordered some items and then, because the steak I ordered had a price label on it, I could calculate - it was 20% markup (from $43.99/kg to 452.59/kg). Deception #2.
The story here is deceptive consumer practices. They are masquerading as Costco, were initially not warning us about markups, but even now, refuses to tell us what the markups are.
On a side note, 20% to me, is extortive. It is a matter of opinion though.
