Re: Burnaby residents deserve 'meaningful' input into OCP

I would definitely like the City of Burnaby to engage with Burnaby residents on the development of Burnaby’s Official Community Plan and to keep the residents informed of where we are at with the process.

Following are some of the things I’d like to see addressed:

  • a city with enough affordable housing for everyone who needs it in co-ops or other types of housing that foster a healthy community, not just massive highrises that often do the opposite;
  • housing where residents can grow their own food and have accessible greenspace nearby;
  • a bike-friendly city and better public transit to reduce the number of private vehicles on the roads; and
  • a transition to less polluting heating of homes by upgrading the electricity grid and making it affordable for owners burning gas to switch to heat pumps.
