Letter facts not quite right

Dear Editor:

Re: Give scrutiny to oil claims, Letters to the Editor, Burnaby NOW, Sept. 28.

I'm writing as follow up to a letter to the editor from Alan Hunter published on Sept. 28.

In it, he states that the company does not provide statistics related to spills. I just wanted to bring to your attention that his claim is entirely false.

In fact, our website details the number of spills, their volume, location and type of product dating back to 1961. You and your readers can find it in the FAQ's under the question "How many spills have there been on the Trans Mountain system?" at www.transmountain.com/faq. I appreciate this is a letter from an individual and not a researched story, but I just thought you would appreciate knowing that the letter contains a statement that is factually untrue.
