Editor:
This letter is regarding a business in Burnaby. I wanted to share my opinion and hopefully get a response from others in a similar situation.
I have been a patient with Summitview Medical Centre located at 3300 Boundary Rd. for about nine years now.
I called the clinic today for some medical help but the phone number has been disconnected. I searched online and it shows that the clinic is “Permanently closed.” I was really shocked and surprised to see this. I understand that we are going through uncertain times and a lot of businesses have closed down.
But is it not the responsibility of clinics and health practitioners to at least notify patients that they are closing and to forward medical history reports and suggest alternatives? All my medical records are with the GP at the clinic and I have no idea how to access them.
I would appreciate it if this letter could be published, in the hope that someone will reach out to me and assist.
Shanti Chary, Burnaby
