Dear Editor:

Re: Pro-gay position refuted, Letter to the editor, Burnaby NOW, Jan. 20.

How sad it was to read the letter by Thang Vu regarding Ms. Tracy's thoughtful piece on bullying, homophobia and human rights of individuals to live in a tolerant, safe environment.

I make no comment on his somewhat twisted logic on criminology and the right to "hate." I pity people like Vu. What must it be like to go through life with such hatred for people who might have different views, or sexual preferences, or a lifestyle that differs from his.

Does his blood boil when he sees two women holding hands, or sharing a kiss? Does his heart pound when he sees two men dancing together?

If this is reality for you, Mr. Vu, you have my sympathy. What a shame to waste your life living with such spiteful opinions of people different from you.

In closing, let me say this: I don't hate you, Mr. Vu, however, I do pity you.
