Re: School district head retiring, Burnaby NOW, May 25.
We have mixed emotions when leaders like Burnaby school district superintendent Claudio Morelli announce their plans to retire.
On the one hand we're happy for them. On the other hand we feel a real loss.
We're losing 34 years of accumulated wisdom. Losing a true gentleman who, with former chair Diana Mumford, helped start to address the lack of programs for gifted children. Burnaby's primary and intermediate Challenge programs are just part of the legacy he leaves behind.
For that, we sincerely thank you, Mr. Morelli!
