“Donuts – is there anything they can’t do.”
Those famous words were uttered by one Homer J. Simpson and I see no reason to disagree with that statement.
The problem in Burnaby is there are few places where really good donuts are available.
Sorry, don’t mention a certain national chain to me – those are not what I would call “really good donuts.”
No, to find really good donuts you need to get your hands on the items offered up by Royal City Donuts, which doesn’t have a brick-and-mortar shop yet. You usually have to find them at markets.
Or at Glenburn Soda Fountain.
Like, this Sunday.
Glenburn continues to offer cool ideas to customers with the addition of Donut Sundays.
“We’re getting up early on Sunday for a good reason - handmade donuts from @royalcitydonuts and locally roasted small batch coffee from @heightscoffee.ca,” Glenburn posted on its Instagram account.
“The first of our ‘Donut Sundays’ is this Sunday and we’re hoping to make it a weekly ritual. 9am - 11am this Sunday - set an alarm or two and we’ll see you there! Drip coffee and whole bean coffee available for sale and donuts by the single, half dozen or dozen. Stay tuned for more updates and we hope to see you Sunday!”
I don’t drink coffee, but I can make up for that in donuts.
