Uniting opposition a good idea

Dear Editor:

Re: TEAM looking to unite opposition, Burnaby NOW, Dec. 14.

Like thousands of other voters who did not vote for the Burnaby Citizens Association in the recent election, I am disappointed that the left-wing party has a monopoly of power on council and school board.

I agree with the efforts of the TEAM Burnaby president to unite opposition to the BCA as that may help.

But I am somewhat confused and perplexed about Nick Kvenich's concern about "trust" issues. Is this the same person who ran as an independent for council in this election under the name "Nick Akvenich"? If yes, then what does it say about a person who uses a name that puts him higher on the ballot in an election and then reverts to another version of his name after the election?

I think TEAM Burnaby should steer clear of a character who was obviously trying to fool voters this way.

Nick "Kvenich" or "Akvenich" or whoever he is shouldn't preach about "trust issues" until he learns to be upfront with voters himself.
