Why do we love sharing Christmas memories?

Christmas memories invoke feelings of joy, compassion, gratitude and love - let's create more of them on Sunday

There is something almost addictive about reading other people's favourite Christmas memories. Perhaps it's being comforted by the discovery that what we value is valued by other members of our community, and in our city. That we share a love of family, kindness, and, of course, the joy of giving. Perhaps it's simply enjoying someone else's happiness - a vicarious joy that make the cold, dark days of winter just a little brighter. But for whatever reasons - we love reading about people's Christmas memories, and we are grateful that they share those memories with us so that we can share them with our readers. (See page 17).

What is your favourite Christmas memory? Is it the first Christmas with a new baby? A Christmas when you knew the kids were all safe and healthy? When you received that muchdeserved company bonus? Was it the Christmas when you all went out on the front lawn and rolled in the snow making snow angels? When the cat pulled down the Christmas tree? When your mom and dad gave you your first bike? When you went door-to-door in the neighbourhood clutching a mug of hot chocolate and singing for your neighbours?

Whatever your special memories are - or if they are of another special day celebrating with your family - we hope this Christmas is a peaceful, healthy and happy one for you and your loved ones. We hope that the day offers you new warm memories to share over the coming years, and that everyday offers you and your family and friends the opportunity to share good times.
