Dear Editor:

Re: Important to tell refugee tales, Letters to the Editor, Burnaby NOW, Jan. 23.

Well, I do agree with Wendy Chan about refugees that are in dire straits in their homeland should be allowed to immigrate if their lives are in danger or if they want to improve their lives.

What really irks me are the refugees who come to Canada so they can collect Old Age Pensions - where is the justice in that?

Canadians are known for their hard work ethics and deserve to collect an OAP when they retire after

putting a decent sum of their monies toward it. Why should those who have spent their work life putting in money have to basically give this hard earned money to people who haven't put a dime into it? What will happen to our future retirees when the monies are no longer available because the government has given money to people who really did not earn it?

I'm worried about their future as much as most people are - where does one draw the line about this problem?
