Is this Burnaby view worth $8.4M? Then someone has a deal for you

Two properties combined into one deal on the side of a mountain.

How much is a view worth to you?

For some, it’s not a big deal while others will spend millions on an unobstructed view.

There is a new Burnaby real estate listing that promises one of the finest views in all of Metro Vancouver – with expansive views of Burrard Inlet and the North Shore mountains.

All for $8.4 million.

The listing is actually two Burnaby properties that are being combined into one land sale. The properties, more than three acres in size are on Braeside and Bayview Drives on the north side of Burnaby Mountain above Barnet Highway. You probably haven’t heard of these streets before because they are so private with the properties at the end of a cul-de-sac.

One of them has a large, six-bedroom house on it, but the listing makes it clear that this is the right deal to build an executive-level home with a stunning view.

Burnaby’s real estate market is seeing sellers reaping some amazing rewards, according to the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) and some recent sales.

In Burnaby, there was a big jump in sales in February, according to the REBGV, with 459 in total – way above the 314 in January.

Last month’s Metro Vancouver real estate sales were 26.9 per cent above the 10-year February sales average, said the REBGV.

In Burnaby, the average price for a detached house was going from $2.2 million, up from $2,062,000 in January and way up from $1.7 million in February 2021.
“As we prepare to enter what’s traditionally the busiest season of the year, the Metro Vancouver housing market is seeing more historically typical home sale activity and a modest uptick in home listing activity compared to last year,” Taylor Biggar, REBGV chair said.
