By far the most expensive new listing in the Burnaby residential real estate market is a house on Whelen Court in the prestigious Deer Lake area.
But unlike many other expensive homes, you really can see why it’s priced high at $6,288,000.
As the photos above show, it’s like a majestic castle.
Only on the market for a few days, this house – it’s only three years old - has five bedrooms, eight bathrooms and 6,548 square feet on a lot that is more than half an acre.
The backyard also has a nice swimming pool and a view of a secluded forest.
Sales are strong right now in Burnaby, but prices have risen.
The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver's monthly report for March shows the cost to buy a single-family detached home, apartment, townhome or residential all increased last month.
According to the report, two out of three Burnaby areas surpassed the $2 million mark for a benchmark price last month.
Burnaby South currently sits at a benchmark price of $2,067,100 (+4.2% in one month) while Burnaby North was at $2,021,400 (+4.9% in one month).
Burnaby East stayed under $2 million at $1,776,300 (+2.7% in one month).
